OUTSTANDING ON AND OFF THE FIELD

The 2004 NFL Defense Player of the Year, Ed Reed has also not only been selected to nine Pro Bowls and is the current record holder of the longest interception returns for touchdowns(106 in 2004 and 108 in 2008). Besides Ed's outstanding performance on the field, roughly 10 years ago he created a non-profit charitable organization helping thousand's of our country's youth.

My name is Will Johnson and I am here to blog about the significance of Ed Reed and his charitable organization called the "Ed Reed Foundation". I have always been a fan of Ed and the Ravens, but once I heard about how much he gives back to Baltimore and his home town I was astounded at his encouraging attitude towards life and children.

This foundation specializes in giving more and better opportunities for children of lesser means. This charity gives kids who may not have much going for them a chance to succeed and realize their potential.

Ed is most likely very busy from being a professional football player, the fact that he gives up his money and time for other children he does not know is very honorable. I idolize Ed Reed for his love of giving back to his community. I hope to be able to inform all of you about the honorable Ed Reed and his importance to the Baltimore community.
